Death, Desire and Divinity
Life is like smoking a bowl of consciousness
When the flame of consciousness is running low
And the last amber is dieing out
Will you be ready?
Will you be
At being
Or will you
Want!
To want anything during death even if it's good and beautiful, is to
Want bondage
To want God as something tangible and separate from yourself, is to
Want bondage
To have an ideal image of what heaven and God is like, is to
Want bondage
To want to work with God as a creating and protecting entity, is to
Want bondage
To expect some saint or savior to save you, is to
Want bondage
To want to see and be with the human image of your saint, is to
Want bondage
To want the image you have of yourself to continue, is to
Want bondage
To expect deliverance into Eternity for leading a good life, is to
Want bondage
To want to see your family or friends again, is to
Want bondage
To want the mind to come with you after death, is to
Want bondage
To want anything or any image from here to continue, is to
Want bondage
Want not, expect not, remember not, take not, fear not, and surrender all is to
Find God and Divinity

I'm a little afraid of death.

Hi H.C.
Fear of death is a big road block to Self-realization. Logically so, because it’s the biggest transition you’ll undergo here and it should be done right with a complete surrendering. If you do this right you can past by the afterlife state and find Eternity. It’s not that easy, but it can be a very easy transition if you know your Self first then the unknown is known, and your going home. It’s not as scary when you are looking for the meditative death first that comes with enlightenment before the body breaks down and leaves you no alternative. And if you are really scared of death finding the Self is the ultimate cure for that fear, and only your conditioning or identity dies.
You have to want realization more than life itself because voluntarily surrendering your attachments or conditioning is the opposite of life itself and what true and final death is which brings you to Eternity. You can’t take any of this temporal stuff with you, because in Perfection or Eternity all imperfection is absent, so any attributes coming from the universe has to be voluntarily discarded, which is the final death of the illusion. Self-realization is the final death while living, by passing through all the stages and finding home beyond the universe of change. Abandon change to find the changeless. Your attention focused on the changing phenomenon will indicate your attachments, so withdraw it with an undying determination and then the superimposed images that were held up by your attention will vanish to reveal that which is Eternal and ever present.

Kurt, It seems to be quite difficult to not desire to see a loved one at the time of death. Is it possible, and if so how, to continue to love the people you love in Eternity ?

Very difficult, and only the Self-realized will look away with complete certainty, because they know it’s undoubtedly an illusion. Desire to see Absolute Space and Eternity then you will see all for all are there. Either way you’ll see your friends and family but one way is a fabricated image of them the way you want it to be and not the way it is or who they really are. The after death state is created by the personal individual which has attachments and memories to sift through, and the next time you wake up it will be in Eternity beyond the illusionary state of dreaming and karma.
This next statement is hard to grasp, but it is the absolute truth, so I’m going to toss it at you anyways.
You and all of your loved ones including the whole universe of life are there right now with God in Eternity! Nobody has ever left God’s side! And nobody ever will, nor has anyone gone anywhere or gained anything….its all an illusion!
When you realize Eternity, you will realize all are there, but most are tied up in the temporary illusion of form and dream. Nonetheless in Eternity you see them, the Saints, God and everyone else as they really are, that being a naturally pure and formless state, in the same manner you now see your Self the same way, which is the purest form of love.
You can’t see this because you’re caught up on their illusionary form and your attachment to these appearances has your love and attention locked into it and conditioned by it, to which you will have to free and discern what love and reality really is. You’re in love with a conceptual illusion based on time, and I believe that’s what the lesson is in the afterlife and once you get past the film of images then you’re at home with all in Eternity.
People prefer the decomposing form and the unique one of a kind personality it housed over the common perfection that underlines all of us and God.
If you want to see past the imperfections and the temporary identities that we play with, then you will see God and Perfection, which only Reality can bestow.

Also had a question on your comment of 'life starts with a clean slate'. But doesn't life begin with previous lives karma ? And the events in one's life predictable, covering evey path of our many 'free choices', as proved by astrology ?

Yes, the Karma of your relatives, that genetic link that goes back in time to the first humans. This karma from past lives and your new set of life experiences are your predispositions in life and your conditioning. However, the Self is always a clean slate and doesn’t have a personal mind to store information or imprints or anything that conditions it. Anything that covers the Self like the mind or dream state as in the after life is what keeps it (seemingly) separated from God causing it to trump everything including another human form and Eternity, which allows us the freewill that we enjoy today. You can’t take your illusionary baggage with you on your next journey because its not real in the first place, and if you could take the illusions with you then the excess baggage from a thousand lives (a thousand trump cards) would be astronomical and you would loose your freewill.
The moment you awaken you are free from your inclinations and in Eternity, and only clean slate can be covered again by the illusion. One illusion at a time gives us the freewill to do something about it and thank God for that, for one set of life of imprints is hard enough, and a daunting task to overcome.
When I take a close look at my life and my thoughts they are intimately associated with all of my life experiences and my hereditary imprints, and my past issues were all related to that and there’s nothing supernatural about it. I can’t find one memory or one inclination in my life that doesn’t have a cause and effect relationship with my experiences and my family background.
Astrology gives you astrological chart of your present life and may provide vague guidelines but muddied and open for interpretation making it subjective and not written in stone giving freewill a chance to change all of it. My chart has some truth to it but most of it’s off and I get a different reading depending on the person who does it. My teacher Vethathiri had a background in astrology and use to tell people to use it sparingly or not at all if you’re on a spiritual path, for that neutralizes it. It’s just another part of the changing illusion, and now you effectively put yourself beyond the need of charts, psychics, channels, curses, and other future telling avenues. When you’re on the path these things don’t apply to you anymore. You live in the moment and not the past or the future, and no one can predict the future with certainty anyways only small isolated instances are possible, which are always subject to change, because freewill overrides everything including the physical universe which makes enlightenment possible.
